working8What has the Governing Board and Leadership been doing over the last year?

  • Voted Mr. Martin Barry as Chair of Governors
  • Voted Mr. Steve Miles as Vice Chair
  • Re-constituted and streamlined the Governing Body into a smaller, more effective unit
  • Instigated a comprehensive monitoring programme for all subjects and classes
  • Received quotes and subsequently commissioned our new building work, which has now started
  • Appointed a new specialist SENco
  • Taken on a new in-house lunch service, which is proving a huge success
  • Took year 6 on a residential trip to Summerfield’s Adventure Centre in Great Yarmouth, in May 2016
  • Addressed the school car park issue jointly with our infant school
  • Introduced regular meetings with our infant school, discussing joint concerns
  • Met regularly with the schools in Basildon Catholic Collegiate Trust, and the schools in our Deanery group
  • Appointed a new Staff Representative Governor and Local Authority Governor
  • Appointed a new full-time clerk
  • Abolished Governor Committees in favour of two full Governing Body meetings every term
  • We are initiating a Governors skills audit-to identify what skills we have and need
  • Approved and agreed targets for our children
  • Enjoyed many school trips
  • Invited our parents into school for, assemblies, masses, coffee mornings, parent teacher consultations, plays, sporting events, and music concerts
  • Re-designed the school website-with all policies and forms available
  • Re-designed the newsletter, introducing a regular Head Teacher’s Report
  • Approved monthly and yearly Financial Regulations
  • Introduced a programme of updating school policies, which is up to date
  • Requested regular data on how our Pupil Premium money is spent, to ensure best value is achieved
  • Re-structured our rewards system, with an emphasis on the St. Anne Line Way
  • Increased our Student Council’s involvement and responsibilities
  • Introduced a new door entry security system, and a system whereby our Senior Leadership are contactable by radio
  • Re-decorated our main hall and various offices and classrooms
  • Created a designated Parent Meeting Room
  • Made regular training opportunities available to Governors
  • Received and questioned the Head Teacher’s reports to Governors
  • Constructed and received the School Improvement Plan
  • Provided in school and on-line training for our parents to understand their child’s work
