working8What has the Governing Board and Leadership been doing over the last year?

  • Here are just some of the initiatives, structures and other items the Governors have put in place over the year.
  • Voted Mr. Roland Bremmer as Chair of Governors.
  • Voted Mr. Steve Miles as Vice Chair.
  • Maintained a streamline Governing Body to remain a smaller, more effective unit.
  • Maintained a comprehensive monitoring programme for all subjects and classes.
  • Received quotes and subsequently commissioned our new building work, which has now started.
  • Appointed a new specialist SENco.
  • Leased a school mini-bus, with school branding.
  • Addressed and monitored the in-house lunch service.
  • Introduced regular meetings with our infant school, discussing joint concerns.
  • Met regularly with the schools in our Deanery S2S group.
  • Appointed a new Local Authority Governor and Parent Representative Governor.
  • Updated a Governors skills audit-to identify what skills we have and need.
  • Approved and agreed targets for our children.
  • Enjoyed many school trips.
  • Invited our parents into school for, assemblies, masses, coffee mornings, parent teacher consultations, book looks, plays, sporting events, and music concerts.
  • Approved monthly and yearly Financial Regulations.
  • Maintain the programme of updating school policies, which is up to date.
  • Requested regular data on how our Pupil Premium and Sports Premium money is spent, to ensure best value is achieved.
  • Increased our Pupil Council’s involvement and responsibilities.
  • Increased the management of the school’s security system with additional CCTV and security lighting.
  • Installed new windows throughout the school.
  • Made regular training opportunities available to Governors.
  • Received and questioned the Head Teacher’s reports to Governors.
  • Constructed and received the School Improvement Plan.
